BMT Wins $2.1 Million Contract with U.S. Navy Energy Awareness Program

BMT Designers & Planners, Inc., a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, today announced it has won a $2.1M firm fixed priced contract to support the Department of the Navy (DON) Energy Awareness Program over a five year period.
The contract was awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Engineering Service Center (ESC) to provide public relations support for the Navy Energy Awareness Program.
Under this contract, BMT will publicise the goals and accomplishments of the DON Energy Program, increase DON military and civilian employees' knowledge of energy efficiency and conservation, develop programs that will change the behavior of DON personnel resulting in decreased energy use and assist DON activities in meeting energy reduction goals through awareness education.
Projects in this contract will include:
- Developing and publishing four issues of the Navy's Energized newsletter. This newsletter is the primary tool for communication and information within the Navy about energy awareness activities, media placement, legislation and success stories;
- Providing outreach services, which include developing Public Service Announcements, E-Flashes, and an overall Communications Plan containing additional recommendations for outreach tactics;
- Organising and supporting the annual DON Energy Program Awards Ceremony held at the Navy Memorial in Washington, DC;
- Procuring awareness items containing slogans and themes related to the DON Energy Program;
- Assisting the Navy to prepare award submittals for the annual U.S. Department of Energy and Presidential Energy Management award programs;
- Providing support to high-level energy planning meetings in Washington, DC;
- Researching and writing articles regarding DON Energy Program news, developments, and innovations.
